We are looking for an experienced Fire Systems Designer to join our growing team and deliver cutting-edge, compliant fire protection designs across commercial and industrial projects.
About The Role
Based at our Newmarket office, you'll prepare and coordinate wet and dry fire protection designs across a range of commercial and industrial projects.
This role suits someone who enjoys detailed design work, values accuracy and compliance, and wants to keep developing their fire protection design skills.
You'll work with internal teams, clients and project stakeholders to ensure designs are practical, compliant and clearly documented.
Design wet and dry fire protection systems in line with Australian Standards, building codes and project specifications.
Prepare AutoCAD drawings, Revit models, hydraulic calculations and design documentation.
Produce construction drawings, installation drawings, fabrication details, cut sheets and equipment schedules.
Review architectural drawings, consultant documentation and project specifications to identify design requirements.
Coordinate design information with project teams, consultants, clients and installation teams.
Attend design coordination meetings and workshops as required.
Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs and provide technical design support during construction.
Contribute to improvements in design standards, documentation, workflows and quality systems.
What You'll Bring
2–5 years' experience designing wet and dry fire protection systems.
Strong AutoCAD skills, with Revit experience or a willingness to develop further.
Sound understanding of hydraulic calculations for sprinkler and hydrant systems.
Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, including AS ****, AS ****, AS **** and related fire protection standards.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, consultant documentation and project specifications.
Good communication, coordination and organisational skills.
Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to solving design challenges.
Experience reviewing design documentation or assisting junior designers will be highly regarded.
