Financial Accountant (Temp-to-Perm) Immediate start!
Sydney CBD | 3-Month Temporary Assignment with Permanent Opportunity
$50ph - $60ph + super
An exciting opportunity has become available for aFinancial Accountantto join an innovative Australian financial services business in the life insurance sector.
The business is seeking a hands-on Financial Accountant to join initially on a3-month temporary temporary assignment, with a strong intention to convert the successful candidate into a permanent team member.
This is an all-rounder role you'll gain handle accounts receivable and payables, as well as financial reporting, tax, payroll, cash flow management and business operations.
The Role
This position will suit a technically strong accountant who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, overseeing a range of transactional and reporting responsibilities and working in a small company environment in a standalone/2-person capacity.
Key responsibilities include:
Ownership of the general ledger, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
Managing month-end close activities, including accruals, prepayments and supporting working papers.
Assisting with monthly management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and employee expense processes.
Monitoring daily cash flow requirements and supporting cash flow forecasting activities.
Assisting with annual statutory reporting, financial statement preparation and external audits.
Preparing GST, payroll tax, FBT, ESS and income tax calculations for review and lodgement.
Liaising with external stakeholders including auditors, ASIC,
the ATO and key suppliers.
Supporting the documentation of accounting policies, processes and technical accounting papers.
Identifying opportunities to improve controls, streamline processes and drive operational efficiencies.
Assisting with ad hoc finance projects and business initiatives.
About You
CA or CPA qualification (or nearing completion).
Solid month-end, reconciliation and financial reporting capabilities.
Exposure to statutory reporting, tax compliance and audit processes.
Experience managing or overseeing AP, AR, payroll and cash flow activities.
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to operate in a growing business environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels.
Immediately available and no notice period.
