We're excited to welcome a Registered Nurse to our Mental Health and Specialised Services department.
The Rosella Mental Health Adolescent Inpatient Unit provides24-houracute mental health assessment and care to adolescents,generally agedbetween 13 and 17 years, in a safe, structured, highly supervised and supportive environment during an acute episode of mental illness. Admissions occur when an adolescent presents with mental illness, serious mental health problems with associated co-morbidities, or is at risk of developing such, and cannot be adequately supported in the community.
The focus of care is on the stabilisation of acute symptoms, the provision of diagnostic formulation, and a range of recovery focussed treatments within a developmental framework. The Rosella unit operates on the premise that inpatient treatment is only one phase of the assessment and treatment process that assists consumers, families and/or carers recover their health, and developmental potential working collaboratively our colleagues in the Child and Youth Community Mental Health Service (CYMHS) to ensure that young people are treated in the least restrictive environment possible. This recognises the need for safety and cultural sensitivity, with the minimum possible disruption to their family and educational, social and community networks.

Key Responsibilities include:
Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State **** – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 5 and the Queensland Public Service values.
Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
Salary rates: $***** - $***** p.h., employer contribution to superannuation ******%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 5)
