1st Year Carpentry Apprenticeship | Certificate III in Carpentry
Build your future with a hands‐on carpentry apprenticeship working on architectural homes and large‐scale residential developments across Victoria.
We're looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our host employer as a 1st Year Carpentry Apprentice. While completing a Certificate III in Carpentry, you'll gain hands‐on experience, ongoing mentoring, and practical training alongside experienced tradespeople on a variety of residential construction projects. If you enjoy working outdoors, are keen to learn, and want to build a long‐term career in the construction industry, we'd love to hear from you.

Our host employer is a well-established Melbourne‐based carpentry business specialising in structural framing for architectural homes and large‐scale residential developments. Working alongside leading builders, they're known for delivering quality workmanship with a strong focus on precision, structural integrity, and attention to detail. Their experienced team is passionate about mentoring the next generation of skilled carpenters.
About the Role
Working alongside qualified carpenters, you'll assist with all aspects of residential construction while developing the practical skills required to become a qualified tradesperson.
Structural framing and wall frames
Roof trusses, flooring systems, doors, windows and cladding
Decking, pergolas and external structures
Formwork and general carpentry
Reading plans, measuring and setting out
Safe use of hand and power tools
Material handling, site preparation and workplace safety
No two days are the same, with opportunities to work across a variety of quality residential projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assist qualified carpenters with residential construction projects
Learn and apply carpentry techniques under supervision
Measure, set out and prepare construction work
Safely operate hand and power tools
Install framing, flooring, doors, windows and cladding
Load and transport building materials
Maintain clean and safe work sites
Follow plans, supervisor instructions and safety procedures
Complete apprenticeship training and attend toolbox meetings
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
A genuine interest in building a career in carpentry
A positive attitude and strong work ethic
Good communication and teamwork skills
Solid attention to detail
Physical fitness and a willingness to perform manual work
A commitment to workplace health and safety
Reliability, punctuality and a willingness to learn
Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport to travel between various work sites across Victoria
White Card (Construction Induction Card)
