An exciting opportunity has become available to join a growing civil construction business that has recently established its Sydney operations and secured a robust pipeline of projects across New South Wales.
As the business continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Wages Clerk with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience to play a key role in supporting the finance and operations team.
This position offers the opportunity to join the business at an early stage and grow alongside the organisation.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager and leadership team, you will be responsible for managing weekly payroll while supporting the day-to-day accounts function across the business.
Initially, payroll will cover approximately 35 employees, however this is expected to grow significantly as projects ramp up, with workforce numbers forecast to increase to between 200 and 300 employees over the coming years.
Key Responsibilities
Processing weekly payroll accurately and on time
Maintaining employee payroll records and documentation
Managing payroll queries and employee requests
Accounts Payable processing including supplier invoices and payments
Accounts Receivable including invoicing, debtor management and reconciliations
Assisting with month-end reporting and financial administration
Maintaining accurate financial records and data entry
Supporting project teams with payroll and finance-related requirements
Assisting with process improvements as the business continues to grow
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous experience as a Wages Clerk, Payroll Officer or Payroll Administrator
Exposure to both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
Experience working within construction, civil, infrastructure, engineering or a project-based environment
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong systems experience across payroll and accounting platforms
A proactive attitude and willingness to be part of a growing business
