Kenneally's Funerals is seeking reliable, compassionate and professional individuals to join our team as Funeral Assistants / Trainee Funeral Conductors.
This is an chance to undertake meaningful, hands-on work supporting families while developing practical skills across funeral service operations. Depending on experience, availability and career goals, the position may be offered on a casual or full-time basis.
You'll work alongside our experienced Funeral Directors and Conductors, assisting with services and learning how to coordinate them with care, dignity, professionalism and attention to detail. Full on-the-job training and mentoring will be provided.
About the Role
No two days are the same. Depending on your experience, training and operational requirements, your responsibilities may include:
Assisting with the preparation, coordination and delivery of funeral services in churches, chapels, cemeteries and crematoriums.
Supporting families and guests with compassion, discretion and professionalism.
Driving hearses, mourning cars and other funeral vehicles.
Carrying and escorting coffins safely and respectfully during funeral services.
Preparing funeral vehicles, equipment, chapels and graveside service areas to a high standard.
Assisting with transfers from homes, hospitals and aged care facilities.
Providing respectful care of the deceased within our mortuary.
Coordinating with churches, cemeteries, crematoriums, celebrants and other service providers.
Supporting Funeral Directors and Conductors throughout services while developing the skills to conduct services independently.
Maintaining the professional presentation of vehicles, facilities and equipment.
About You

Are flexible and available for weekday work, with occasional evenings, weekends and after-hours services as required.

Ability to perform manual handling safely.
A commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism, confidentiality and respectful conduct.
