Stellar Recruitment is proud to partner with Boggabri Coal Mine (BCO) to appoint an experienced Senior Site Accountant.
Producing more than 7 million tonnes of coal annually, BCO is one of Current South Wales' leading open-cut coal operations, with a mine life extending through to **** and a further four-year extension currently under review. Located just 17 km from Boggabri and within commuting distance of Narrabri and Gunnedah, the operation offers the opportunity to enjoy a rewarding mining career while benefiting from the lifestyle and community of regional NSW.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Commercial Superintendent, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial and commercial performance of the operation. Working closely with site leadership and the Brisbane finance team, you'll provide commercial insights, financial governance and reporting that help drive operational performance and informed business decisions.
This is a broad, commercially focused role offering exposure across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure, compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities include:
Deliver accurate monthly financial reporting, reconciliations and management reporting.
Partner with operational leaders on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and commercial decision-making.
Monitor operating costs and capital expenditure while maintaining robust financial controls and governance.
Support statutory reporting, audit activities and compliance obligations.




Mentor the Site Accountant while driving improvements across financial systems, reporting and business processes.
What weu****re looking for:
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, with CA/CPA (or currently working towards).
Demonstrated commercial accounting experience within mining, resources, manufacturing or another complex operational environment.
Strong capability across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial controls.
Advanced ERP systems experience together with strong Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills.
A commercial mindset with the ability to influence stakeholders, partner with operational leaders and drive continuous improvement.
