Job Description
Technical Consultant – Electrical Forensics
Sydney, Australia
About the Role
Investigate electrical failures in industrial, commercial, and residential settings. Analyse causes, assess damage, scope repairs, and prepare expert reports for insurance claims, legal cases, and catastrophe responses (fires, floods, natural disasters). Provide expert testimony when required.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct field investigations and document damage
Determine failure causes, repair scope, and costs
Prepare clear, technical reports for clients and courts
Support catastrophe response teams
Maintain client relationships and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
About You
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering
2–4 years' practical electrical engineering experience
Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
Ability to work in post-disaster environments
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software
Valid driver's license and safety-focused mindset
Nice to Have
Forensic, power systems, or fire investigation experience
Commercial/industrial setting experience
NER Registration (or ability to obtain)
Familiarity with NCC or MEP systems
