Our in-house design team can assist with tailor-made solutions to our clients' heating, ventilation and air conditioning requirements.
The Role
As BMS Solutions Engineer, you will carry out BMS engineering checks and designs, providing technical assistance to the engineering team, project managers and draftspeople across a broad range of projects.
You will work closely with the engineering team, project managers, site foremen and BMS subcontractors from design through to commissioning. Key responsibilities shall include:
Review BMS proposals and quotes from different BMS companies, cross-checking inclusions/exclusions against client specifications and drawings, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Prepare and maintain the BMS submissions package for each project, following up with subcontractors to ensure documentation is received and kept up to date.
Review BMS documentation including functional descriptions, points lists, wiring diagrams, network topology, third-party interfaces and graphic samples.
Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Establish BMS bench testing as the Ellis Air standard, simulating field conditions prior to installation.
Monitor BMS site installation progress, including cable rough-ins, panel installations and parts delivery/lead times.




Facilitate meetings and coordination between BMS subcontractors and other trades for third-party interfacing.
Oversee pre-commissioning, commissioning and witness testing, ensuring point-to-point and functional testing is completed and recorded.
Track and close out BMS defects, including building tuning during the Defects Liability Period to achieve optimum energy performance.
Provide remote BMS support to diagnose issues ahead of service technician attendance, reducing unnecessary callouts.
Identify and pass on additional service or sales opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement by standardising BMS solutions, templates, commissioning processes and documentation.
Experience & Skills
Minimum 10 years' relevant engineering experience, with a strong background in BMS/controls solutions.
Ability to communicate at all levels, with personnel both within and external to our company.
Ability to motivate others.
