We are currently seeking a Senior Geologist tojoin our team at the Lord Byron open pit operation. Reporting tothe Geology Manager and working an 8/6 roster, this is a uniqueopportunity to help establish the Open Pit Geology function fromthe ground up as operations commence. Suited to a technicallycapable and proactive Senior Geologist, the role offers significantownership, leadership responsibility, and the chance to shapegeological practices within a new mining operation.
As the Senior Geologist, your key responsibilities willinclude:
Lead and establish the grade control function for a newopen pit operation, including design and execution of initialand ongoing GC drilling campaigns
Develop,



maintain and continuously improve grade controland geological models, ensuring alignment with mine planningand production requirements
Supervise and mentor Mine Geologists, Pit Technicians andcontractors, driving high standards in safety, data quality andperformance
Analyse drilling, mapping and sampling data to optimise oredefinition, minimise dilution and maximise recovery
Partner closely with Mining Engineers to support short-termplanning, reconciliation and operational performance
About You
Tertiary qualification in Geology or Geoscience with strongexperience in open pit production environments, ideally hardrock gold
Demonstrated expertise in grade control processes,including RC drilling programs, sampling, QA/QC andreconciliation
Proven experience in geological modelling and datainterpretation (e.g. Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac, etc.)
Strong leadership capability with experience supervisingMine Geologists and Pit Techs in a production environment
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Mining,Survey and Processing teams to optimise ore recovery andminimise dilution
