We are partnering with an independent, neutral regulatory body responsible for safeguarding the integrity of public elections and regulating political donations. Our client is seeking a Lead Investigator, Financial Specialist for a newly created position within their compliance team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, you'll serve as the financial authority, driving compliance and complex financial investigations. Your core responsibilities include planning and executing intricate forensic reviews and analysing complex financial data. Crucially, you'll consolidate these findings into robust briefs to support enforcement actions. Beyond active casework, you'll deliver advice to investigators and executive leadership, monitor the financial landscape for emerging regulatory risks, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance obligations are clearly understood.

To be successful, you must possess:
Communication Mastery:



Exceptional communication skills to conduct interviews, draft comprehensive reports and briefs of evidence, alongside the ability to influence and manage strategic stakeholder relationships.
Analytical & Technical Excellence: Advanced experience with excel and case management systems to analyse and present complex financial data.
Qualified Credentials: Active membership with CPA Australia, CA or IPA
Investigative Background: Experience interpreting legal and policy requirements within a law enforcement, compliance, legal, or financial regulatory discipline.
Government Compliance Training: A Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or the commitment to obtain this qualification within your first 12 months).
