About the Position
We are seeking a reliable, motivated and experienced
Sports Field Groundsman
to join our team on a part-time permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in
turf management, horticulture, grounds maintenance or greenkeeping
who takes pride in maintaining high-quality sports fields and surrounding facilities.
The successful applicant will play an important role in ensuring our grounds are presented to a high standard, maintained safely and kept ready for regular training, competition and community use.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
Routine mowing and maintenance of sports fields and surrounding grounds
Turf management, including fertilising, weed control and general turf-care practices
Sports-field preparation and presentation for games and training
Line marking and maintaining accurate field markings
General horticultural and garden maintenance
Irrigation system monitoring and basic maintenance
Identifying and reporting turf, irrigation, drainage and general grounds issues
Operating and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment
General maintenance of grounds, facilities and outdoor areas




Ensuring grounds and facilities are clean, safe and presented to a high standard
Carrying out seasonal and scheduled maintenance programs
Assisting with other grounds and facility maintenance as required
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience in
horticulture, greenkeeping or sports-field maintenance
Has a genuine interest in maintaining quality sporting surfaces
Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work
Can work independently and manage daily maintenance requirements
Has good attention to detail
Is physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Can safely operate grounds maintenance machinery and equipment
Has good communication skills and a positive, practical attitude
Understands the importance of maintaining safe and playable sports facilities
