We are currently seeking a
compassionate and experienced Male Disability Support Worker
to join our team in
Griffin, QLD
.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to support a client with complex care needs while promoting independence, dignity, and community participation.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will:
Provide person-centred support tailored to the client's individual needs, including supporting a client with
baseline paranoia and anxiety
.
Assist with personal care, including hygiene and continence support.
Support community access, appointments, and daily living activities.
Assist with mobility using a
4-wheel walker
and, when required, a
wheelchair
.
Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation.
Promote a protected, respectful, and empowering environment for the client.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience supporting clients with
schizophrenia, acquired brain injury (ABI), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), intellectual disability, and personality disorders
(preferred).
Experience providing personal care, including continence and hygiene support.
Confidence using mobility aids such as a 4-wheel walker and wheelchair.




Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A compassionate, patient, and person-centred approach.
Flexibility to work
morning, afternoon, evening, overnight, and sleepover shifts
.
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or an equivalent qualification.
Current
Working With Children Check (Blue Card)
.
Current
NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
.
Current
National Police Check via Rapid Screening
.
Current
Queensland Driver's Licence
(international licences are not accepted).
Reliable vehicle with
comprehensive car insurance
and current registration.
Current
First Aid (HLTAID011)
and
CPR (HLTAID009)
certificates.
Valid passport or evidence of Australian work rights (if applicable).
