Melbourne

A rare build-mode HRBP seat inside a longstanding Australian business currently in a period of significant organisational change. Melbourne CBD
up to $150k + super
high autonomy, high impact.
About the opportunity
HeXTalent is partnering with a well-established Australian business, currently in a period of significant organisational change, to appoint an experienced
Human Resources Business Partner
into their Melbourne CBD head office.
The organisation has a distributed workforce spanning corporate and operational teams across multiple Australian sites. It sits in a unique moment: a longstanding, well-established operation combined with a genuinely start-up mentality at head office as processes, systems, and strategy are built out for the next chapter.
The HR function is deliberately early in its maturity. Rather than inheriting rhythm and structure, the successful HRBP will help shape it, with the encouragement, trust, and autonomy of a supportive GM HR who believes in agnostic thinking, adaptability, and impact.
This is not a maintenance HR role. It's a build role for someone who wants to make a mark.
About the role
Reporting to the General Manager Human Resources, the HRBP will act as the operational backbone and project engine of the HR function. The role sits alongside an existing network of regional HR Advisors as a senior peer, not managing them, but supporting and lifting the whole function.
Key responsibilities:
HR Operations
Providing operational HR advice and support to leaders across the employee lifecycle
Managing employee relations matters including performance, conduct, grievances, and investigations
Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, industrial instruments, and organisational policies
Developing and maintaining HR policies, procedures, templates, and documentation
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, probation, and offboarding activities
Project Delivery
Leading and delivering HR projects from planning through to implementation and evaluation

Supporting the GM HR with workforce change initiatives and consultation processes
Supporting implementation of new HR systems, technology, and process improvements
Managing workforce planning and organisational design projects
Delivering initiatives that improve employee experience, operational efficiency, and workforce capability
Process Improvement
Reviewing and improving HR processes to increase efficiency and consistency
Developing tools, templates, and resources to support leaders
Identifying opportunities to automate and streamline
Stakeholder Support
Partnering with managers to provide practical, commercially focused HR advice
Coaching leaders on people management practices and employment obligations
Supporting change management activities
Workforce Planning and Reporting
Analysing workforce data and preparing reports for operational decision-making
Monitoring workforce metrics including turnover, vacancies, absenteeism, and headcount
Identifying trends and recommending practical solutions
Supporting budgeting and establishment management activities
The role involves some travel to operational sites away from Melbourne. Openness to that rhythm matters more than the frequency.
