Senior Payroll Officer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join a growing organisation and take ownership of end-to-end payroll operations for a diverse workforce on an initial Fixed-Term Contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing complex payroll requirements, and partnering with stakeholders across the business to ensure accurate and compliant payroll delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time
Interpret and apply Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and relevant legislation
Manage payroll compliance obligations, including superannuation, payroll tax, workers compensation, and leave entitlements
Complete payroll reconciliations, reporting, and payroll-related journals
Support month-end and year-end payroll activities
Maintain payroll records and assist with payroll system administration
Respond to employee and stakeholder payroll queries




Ensure compliance across multiple states and jurisdictions
About You
Proven experience in a Senior Payroll Officer or similar payroll position
Robust knowledge of Enterprise Agreements and payroll legislation
Experience processing complex payrolls in a high-volume environment
Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
Experience with FIFO workforce payrolls
Experience working with Enterprise Agreements
