ACSM Air is excited to offer 1st & 2nd Year HVAC-R Apprenticeship Opportunities for enthusiastic individuals looking to launch a rewarding career in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC-R) industry. This is a full-time apprenticeship position based in Keysborough, VIC ****. As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced tradespeople, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of HVAC-R systems whilst completing your formal training through a registered apprenticeship programme. This role is crucial to developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople in our industry and offers genuine pathways to a long-term career in a growing field.
What you'll be doing
Assisting experienced HVAC-R tradespeople on installation, maintenance and repair work of air conditioning and refrigeration systems
Learning to diagnose faults in HVAC-R equipment using diagnostic tools and testing equipment under supervision
Assisting with the safe handling, storage and disposal of refrigerants in accordance with environmental and safety regulations
Helping to prepare work sites, ensuring tools and materials are organised and ready for technicians
Learning to install, maintain and repair ducting, pipework and electrical components on HVAC-R systems
Attending formal training at a registered training organisation (RTO) as part of your apprenticeship requirements
Keeping accurate records of work completed and contributing to site safety protocols




Gradually taking on more complex tasks as your skills and confidence develop under mentorship
What we're looking for
Currently in your 1st or 2nd year of an HVAC-R apprenticeship or ready to commence an apprenticeship with a registered training organisation
A strong interest in technical trades and a genuine passion for learning HVAC-R systems
Good practical problem-solving skills and the ability to follow technical instructions accurately
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Physical fitness and the ability to work in various environments, including heights, confined spaces and outdoors
A commitment to health and safety practices and willingness to adhere to all workplace safety requirements
Reliability, punctuality and a qualified attitude towards work
A current driver's licence is highly desirable for this role
Basic mathematical and literacy skills to support your technical training
Willingness to obtain relevant certifications such as refrigerant handling certifications as required by the role
