Corrections Education Centre
is a key portfolio of Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI), delivering high-quality education programs to people in custody in partnership with Corrections Victoria and private prison operators. Through strong collaboration with multiple custodial sites, we play a vital role in supporting rehabilitation by building skills, confidence and meaningful pathways for reintegration into the community.
Learning delivery is adapted to the custodial context, with paper-based delivery and controlled classroom settings. Our educators work directly with individuals, often navigating diverse learning needs. Success in this environment requires professionals who are confident in demonstrating emotional intelligence and resilience, bring sound judgement and a strong commitment to professional conduct.
About the Role:
Location: Melbourne Remand Centre, onsite
Role Type: Part time (0.5 FTE) ongoing, flexible with days
Remuneration: starting at $ 94, ****** inclusive of 12% super pro-rata (dependent on qualifications)
We are looking for a
Teacher Test and Tag
to deliver high-quality vocational education and training in test and tag, supporting learners to develop practical, job-ready skills aligned to electrical safety and workplace compliance requirements. This role involves classroom and practical delivery, assessment, student support, and contribution to continuous improvement within a corrections education setting.
You will develop and deliver engaging, customised learning experiences that introduce learners to safe testing and tagging practices, basic electrical safety principles, equipment inspection,
record keeping and compliance expectations. You will also maintain accurate student records, assessments and compliance documentation in line with national VET quality standards and BKI policies.
We are excited about you because you have:
Relevant test and tag, electrical safety, electrical trades or compliance-related qualification and experience
Completed Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Relevant experience delivering or supporting test and tag, electrical safety or workplace compliance training
Experience delivering training in adult education or vocational settings
Effective communication skills for working in correctional settings
Computer proficiency
Compliance paperwork management
Ability to teach independently
Commitment to safety, inclusion, and learner success
