Are you a passionate midwife looking to step up into leadership? Tamworth Hospital's Birth Suite wants to welcome you in a role that suits you, your career goals and your lifestyle. As our newest Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM) in Birth Suite, you will enjoy a blend of clinical and administrative tasks - on any given day, you will be responsible for running handover and huddle meetings, workforce planning and rostering, organising inductions, acute and planned presentations and managing the day to day activity in the birth suite. If you're keen to make the move into midwifery management without losing your clinical skills, then we want to hear from you!
You won't be working alone - you will be supported by the Midwifery Manager, Deputy Director of Nursing & Midwifery (DDONM) and Director of Nursing & Midwifery (DONM), as well as your fellow Registered Midwives (RM's).This is a team that truly values "growing their own", meaning professional growth and development opportunities aren't only encouraged, but championed.

Tamworth Hospital is the principal referral hospital for the northern sector of Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD), servicing a population of over 180,000 people. Our Maternity Unit cares for approximately 1,200 births annually and provides comprehensive services, including a 20-bed antenatal and postnatal unit, four birthing suites, two assessment rooms, and a seven-day Home Midwifery Service. You'll have access to our Midwifery Simulation Centre where we offer continued training, development and pathways and have the opportunity to attend educational days.

You may qualify for a$20,000 sign-on bonusif you have moved (evidence required) fromMM1-2 (metro) location, interstate or internationally to work in our district. *Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
