Summary Avanade is growing, and we seek motivated and engaged technology professionals to join our Managed Services team delivering continuous value to our client's businesses.
We are seeking a Power BI Engineer who can design, build, and support is areporting and analytics solutions using Microsoft Power BI.
You will work with business and technology stakeholders to turn data into trusted dashboards, semantic models, reports, and operational insights, with Power Platform capability used to extend automation, workflow, and user experience where needed.
Core to the Role Design, build, test, and support Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and dataflows across business teams and user groups.
Assess business reporting needs, data sources, data quality, technical constraints, and readiness for new analytics solutions.
Create practical data models, report designs, delivery plans, and stakeholder engagement materials.
Develop Power BI datasets, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, paginated reports, and workspace content.
Integrate Power BI with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Dataverse, SQL, Excel, Azure data services, and Power Platform solutions.
Build simple guides, support notes, refresh runbooks, release updates, and knowledge articles for report users and support teams.
Support governance adoption, including workspaces, security, row-level security, data refresh, deployment pipelines, access controls, and standards.
Use Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse where appropriate to improve data capture, approvals, workflow, and report-driven actions.
Track report usage, performance, adoption, and data issues, then recommend continuous improvements.




About You You are an experienced Power BI professional with the ability to translate business requirements and complex data sources into reliable, actionable insights.
You have a robust understanding of data modelling, DAX, Power Query, report design, workspace governance, security, refresh management, and support requirements across Microsoft 365, Azure-connected services, and the Power Platform.
You are comfortable engaging with stakeholders, data owners, service teams, makers, and end users to deliver reporting solutions that are robust, maintainable, and aligned to business outcomes.
Professional Skillset Strong working knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, semantic models, DAX, Power Query, dataflows, workspaces, and deployment pipelines.
Experience delivering dashboards, operational reports, executive reporting, self-service analytics, and data-led business improvements.
Ability to design clean data models, define metrics, improve report usability, optimise performance, and troubleshoot refresh or access issues.
Ability to create report specifications, data dictionaries, technical notes, user guides, release notes, and support artefacts.
Confident facilitator with experience running requirements workshops, dashboard demos, backlog reviews, and stakeholder briefings.
Understanding of Power BI governance, security, row-level security, data sensitivity, workspace management, sharing models, and data lifecycle basics.
Secondary working knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, connectors, and Microsoft 365 integration patterns.
Strong communication, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
