About the role:
Darwin Private Hospital is looking to employ a Registered Nurse for their Mental Health Unit. Suitable applicants with the right clinical background are encouraged to apply.
About us:
Darwin Private Hospital is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. As part of the Healthscope Group of Hospitals, it is a licenced 122 bed hospital providing a broad range of multiday and day surgery including, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology and ENT and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. In February ****, a purpose built 18 bed inpatient Mental Health & AoD Unit, The Darwin Clinic, opened a new service for patients in the Northern Territory. It also incorporates a dedicated Day Rehabilitation Program.
Our world-class private hospital attracts patients from across the greater Northern Territory, Western Australia, remote aboriginal communities and even offshore. We are co-located with Royal Darwin Hospital and partner in delivering specialised care to patients from across the top end of Australia. Key Responsibilities:
Work in partnership with the MDT, patients and families in decision-making regarding provision of care promoting beneficial relationships.
Deliver quality nursing care by Assessing, Planning,



Implementing and Evaluating individual treatment plans.
Ensure patient and staff safety
Provide a standard of care according to the individual's level of experience and education maintaining high quality nursing care within a safe environment.
Develop and utilise strategies that encourage an atmosphere conductive to effective communication.
Be proactive in your contribution to Quality Improvement, service development and patient safety initiatives in the clinic.
Clinically collaborates with multidisciplinary team through developing inpatient programs, triaging inpatient admissions and participating in case conference meetings with treating psychiatrists.
Current Registration with AHPRA
Post Graduate Certificate in Mental Health (or working towards)
5 years' Clinical Experience
Working with Children check
Commitment to Quality Patient Care
Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
Sound clinical decision making and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Works well independently and within a team

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope Darwin Private Hospital Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement, a salary ranging from $***** to $***** per hour.
