What is the role?
As a Team Member in the AFP, you will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
Under the Chief Officer's portfolio, Judicial Operations - Firearms Registry is responsible for processing firearms licences and permits, adhering to ACT firearms legislation.




The team is looking for a person with high attention to detail and a customer-centric attitude to deliver and support the overall objectives of the team.
The role reports to the Sergeant.
Role Description and ResponsibilitiesThe Firearms Registry Team delivers customer-focused services in all aspects of the Firearms Registry Operations.
It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
Monitoring and actioning requests via email.
These include:
Firearms requests
Permit requests
General firearms bookings
General filing of all paper-based applications
Dealing with public applications and enquiries
Dealing with firearm seizures and amnesty surrenders
Day-to-day operations in general counter duties
Essential Requirements
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one
Proven ability in strong customer service
Highly effective Microsoft Office skills, in particular Microsoft Excel
Desirable Requirements
Firearms-based knowledge.
Sound knowledge of government processes.
Strong desire and experience to implement efficiencies into business practices

This position is an AFP Band 3 level
This position is located in Canberra, ACT.
Successful applicants must be willing to relocate to Canberra at their own expense
