Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to lead the organisation's financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and compliance functions.
This is a hands-on role offering a high degree of autonomy and the prospect to work closely with the CEO and leadership team to support sound financial management and organisational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for:
End-of-month and end-of-financial-year financial reporting.
Preparation of management reports and financial analysis for the CEO, Managers and Management Committee.
Budget preparation, forecasting, variance analysis and financial modelling.
Administration and maintenance of budgeting and forecasting systems.
Payroll oversight, reconciliations and cost centre allocations.
Superannuation, taxation and other statutory compliance obligations.
Audit preparation and liaison with external auditors.
Development and improvement of financial processes, controls and reporting tools.
Providing financial advice and insights to support operational and strategic planning.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Demonstrated experience in a senior accounting role.
Extensive experience using Xero.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills,



including financial reporting, data analysis and complex spreadsheet development.
Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, taxation requirements and financial governance obligations.
In-depth understanding of accounting principles and reporting requirements within the not-for-profit sector.
Experience preparing financial reports, budgets, forecasts and management reporting.
Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Degree qualification in Accounting or Finance
Highly Regarded
Experience using Calxa budgeting and forecasting software.
Experience working within the not-for-profit, disability or community services sectors.
Experience developing Excel macros, automated reporting tools and process improvement solutions.
Experience with payroll systems and labour cost reporting.
