Quantum Civil is a rapidly growing civil construction company delivering commercial civil infrastructure, road construction, bulk earthworks, drainage, sports fields and government projects throughout Victoria.
With a modern fleet of plant and equipment and a reputation for delivering quality projects safely and efficiently, we are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic / HC Driver to join our team.
This is a diverse, full-time role suited to someone who enjoys working both in the workshop and on the road.
You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of civil construction plant, trucks and equipment, while also transporting machinery, materials and equipment between project sites across Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
Service, diagnose and repair civil construction plant and heavy vehicles.
Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
Attend site breakdowns and carry out emergency repairs when required.
Identify faults and recommend cost-effective repair solutions.
Maintain accurate service records and maintenance documentation.
Conduct pre-start inspections and ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standard.
Safely transport civil construction plant, attachments, equipment and materials between depots, suppliers and project sites.
Load, secure and unload machinery and equipment in accordance with transport requirements.
Coordinate deliveries and collections to support project programmes.
Assist with workshop organisation, yard duties and general operational support.
Ensure compliance with all road transport legislation and company safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with project managers, supervisors and plant operators to maximise fleet availability.
About You
You will be a motivated and reliable team player who takes pride in maintaining equipment and delivering a high standard of work.
Essential
Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic.
Current HC Driver Licence.
Experience maintaining heavy vehicles and earthmoving equipment.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Sound knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and diesel systems.
Commitment to workplace health and safety.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Desirable
White Card.
Plant operating experience (excavator, loader, roller or skid steer).
Welding and fabrication experience.
Experience within the civil construction industry.
Forklift licence.
