Your new companyOur client is a well-established local government organisation responsible for the management of key community, commercial and recreational assets.
This newly created role will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to drive commercial outcomes, manage strategic leasing arrangements and support major community infrastructure initiatives.

Your current roleAs the Senior Commercial & Leasing Specialist, you will lead the organisation's key commercial, leasing and stakeholder engagement activities, with an initial focus on a major community and sporting precinct redevelopment.Lead commercial negotiations, leasing arrangements and stakeholder engagement activitiesManage leases, licences, subleases and operator agreements across a diverse property portfolioDrive Expressions of Interest (EOI), Request for Proposal (RFP) and similar commercial procurement processesPrepare recommendations and commercial reports for executive and Council considerationReview existing commercial agreements and identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes, governance and risk managementEstablish and maintain a centralised register of leases, licences and commercial agreementsManage relationships with sporting clubs, community organisations, operators and commercial tenantsSupport negotiations relating to community facilities,
recreational assets and major commercial agreementsProvide strategic advice on commercial opportunities, risks and future asset utilisationCoordinate implementation of approved commercial and leasing decisionsEnsure all activities align with governance, compliance, procurement and legislative requirements
What you'll need to succeedProven experience managing commercial leases, licences, contracts or property-related agreementsDemonstrated experience leading complex negotiations and stakeholder engagement activitiesExperience managing end-to-end EOI, RFP or commercial procurement processesStrong commercial acumen with the ability to assess risks, opportunities and financial implications.Excellent written communication skills with experience preparing recommendations and reports for senior leadershipSound understanding of governance, compliance and risk management principlesAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience within Local Government, Property, Asset Management, Commercial Management or a similarly regulated environment will be highly regarded.Experience working with community facilities, sporting precincts or operator agreements is desirable.
