Hays Procurement & Contracts is partnering with a leading Tier 1 mining organisation with a significant portfolio of capital and asset projects across Western Australia.
Due to continued project investment and growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Projects Commercial Specialist to join a high-performing commercial team supporting the successful delivery of major projects.
Your new role
Working as an integrated member of the project delivery team, you will provide commercial and contract management expertise across a diverse portfolio of engineering, construction, professional services and supply contracts.Key responsibilities include:
Managing end-to-end contract administration and contract performance activities.
Supporting the development and implementation of commercial and contracting strategies.
Managing claims, variations, disputes and change management processes.
Participating in tender evaluations, negotiations and contract award activities.
Monitoring contractor performance against contractual obligations and KPIs.
Providing commercial advice and guidance to project managers and project teams.
Identifying, assessing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
Maintaining commercial governance, reporting and compliance requirements.
Building robust stakeholder relationships to support project delivery outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will possess:




Experience in commercial, contracts, procurement, quantity surveying or project commercial roles.
Strong understanding of contract lifecycle management and commercial risk.
Experience administering construction, engineering or services contracts.
Demonstrated experience managing claims, variations and contractor performance.
Exposure to tendering, sourcing and contract negotiation activities.
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
Experience within mining, resources, construction, infrastructure, energy or industrial project environments.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Law or a related discipline.
