About the RoleReporting to Construction Manager and General Manager, the Site Engineer is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, management and successful delivery of civil construction projects.
The role requires a combination of technical engineering expertise, project management capability and stakeholder engagement to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
The position will involve both office-based and site-based responsibilities and requires proactive leadership, strong commercial awareness and effective communication with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Delivery
Support the planning, coordination and delivery of civil construction projects by providing engineering input, interpreting drawings and specifications, and implementing practical solutions to technical and construction challenges.
Coordinate project resources, subcontractors, plant and materials to support efficient project delivery, while monitoring progress against program, budget and project objectives.
Assist in the preparation of project budgets, forecasts, progress claims,



variations and cost reporting, ensuring accurate project records and contractual compliance.
Monitor project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and contribute to initiatives that improve productivity, efficiency and project outcomes.
Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including site records, reports, claims, correspondence, quality documentation and project registers.
Tendering & Commercial Support
Assist in the preparation of tender submissions, estimates, methodologies and supporting documentation for civil construction projects.
Support contract administration activities, including subcontractor management, supplier engagement, claims assessment and variation management.
Contribute to project reporting, cost tracking and forecasting to support effective commercial decision-making and project performance.
Monitor project financial performance, including variations, claims and cost control measures.
Assist in the administration of contracts, subcontract agreements and supplier engagements.
Support accurate project reporting, forecasting and financial tracking.
Stakeholder & Team Management
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, consultants, councils, authorities, subcontractors and suppliers.
Provide accurate, timely and professional communication to all project stakeholders.
Support Senior Management and project teams to achieve project and business objectives.
Provide leadership,



guidance and direction to site personnel and subcontractors where required.
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented and high-performing workplace culture.
Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ)
Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety, quality and environmental responsibility across all project activities.
Ensure all works are completed in compliance with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, project specifications, contractual obligations and company management systems.
Conduct site inspections and monitor project activities to ensure quality standards, compliance requirements and safety expectations are consistently met.
Participate in risk assessments, SWMS reviews, toolbox meetings and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions where required.
Maintain accurate project quality, safety and compliance documentation, including inspections, testing records and statutory requirements.
Lead by example in fostering safe work practices and a commitment to continuous improvement across all projects.

Skills & Qualification Requirements
A bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or related field) preferred and a minimum of 3 years experience in civil construction
Experience working with government and private sector clients, highly desirable
Survey and Setout skills a strong advantage (GPS & Robotic Total Stations)
White Card and thorough understanding of OHS and application
Excellent time management skills with the ability prioritise tasks
A strong work ethic and the ability to multitask
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organised and driven and is consistently reliable, leading from the front
