About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Paramedic / Emergency Services Officer (ESO) to join our team.
This permanent full-time position will provide onsite medical services and support emergency preparedness and response while working an even-time 2:2 roster.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, the successful applicant will deliver high-quality clinical care, coordinate medical referrals and evacuations, maintain the site medical centre and help ensure the Emergency Response Team, equipment and systems remain ready to respond.
This position requires sound clinical judgement, a calm and professional approach, strong confidentiality and a hands-on commitment to maintaining emergency readiness in a remote mining environment.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities include:
• Provide primary health care and pre-hospital emergency assessment, treatment and stabilisation within professional scope and site protocols.
• Coordinate offsite medical referrals, patient transfers and medical evacuations with external health and emergency-service providers.
• Provide timely, confidential advice and updates regarding workplace injuries and support injury management and return-to-work processes.
• Manage the site medical centre, ambulance, clinical equipment, pharmaceuticals, consumables and associated inspection and controlled-item registers.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical, treatment, injury,



health-surveillance and fitness-for-work records.
• Conduct authorised drug and alcohol screening and other onsite health testing or assessments within qualifications and company protocols.
• Support the review of pre-employment medical information and fitness-for-work matters in accordance with approved processes.
• Maintain emergency-response equipment, vehicles, plans, procedures and readiness inspections.
• Coordinate and participate in Emergency Response Team training, drills and emergency scenarios, including engagement with external emergency services where required.
• Respond to site emergencies, support site incident-management arrangements and contribute to post-incident reviews and investigations.
• Support the site Health and Safety Team with health, wellbeing and emergency-preparedness initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
• Recognised tertiary qualification in Paramedicine or an equivalent qualification accepted for registration as a paramedic in Australia.
• Current unrestricted registration as a Paramedic with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Minimum two years' operational paramedic or pre-hospital emergency-care experience in a jurisdictional ambulance service or comparable emergency or remote setting.
• Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue (RII***** or current equivalent).




• Current advanced life support and resuscitation competencies.
• Current unrestricted WA C Class Driver's Licence with manual driving capability.
• Current National Police Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound clinical and emergency-response decisions under pressure.
• Strong written communication, confidential recordkeeping and organisational skills.
• Previous remote mining or resources experience is highly desirable.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, authorised Drug and Alcohol Tester certification, Mental Health First Aid are desirable.
