Reporting to the Director, Skills Assessments, Finance and Reporting team, the Finance, Data and Reporting Assistant Director is responsible for the development and management of the Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) Branch's financial and data reporting tools, including TRA cost recovery modelling, skills assessment demand forecasting and performance analysis of the Branch's five TRA skills assessment programs.
The key duties of the position include:Responsibilities of the Assistant Director – Finance, Data and Reporting may include:
Development, implementation, and periodic reviews of the TRA cost recovery model
Ongoing monitoring of forecast demand against actual applicant demands for TRA's skills assessment programs
Analysis of available data holdings to detect changes or emerging trends that may affect efficient delivery of TRA assessment services
Management of the branch's budget, its data holdings and development of reporting tools
Management of TRA's Senate Estimates preparation
Cost and demand modelling for New Policy Proposals
Supervising, guiding, and mentoring a specialised team
Provision of evidence-based advice on financial modelling, data and reporting to inform and advocate sound decision-making on complex matters.
EligibilityPlease note, under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act ****, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.
This is a designated security assessed position.
The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.




This selection process may be used to establish a merit pool.
The pool might be accessed to fill ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies for similar roles in the Department over the next 18 months.
