Obstetrics & Gynaecology Registrar – Obstetrics & Gynaecology UnitFull Time – $129,****** – $177,****** (dependent on experience and qualifications)
About the RoleThe Obstetrics & Gynaecology Registrar joins the consultant-led team at Mildura Base Public Hospital, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to our tri-state community within a progressive regional referral service.
With direct on-site consultant supervision available at all times, including afterhours, the role offers a genuine balance of clinical autonomy and structured mentorship — as an integral member of the department, you'll gain broad, hands-on exposure across the full spectrum of obstetric and gynaecological practice, with real responsibility and opportunities for advanced procedural development in a supportive, high-performing environment.
Key clinical responsibilities include:
Leading multidisciplinary communication and structured clinical handover
Participation in a consultant-supported on-call roster, including afterhours
Comprehensive birth suite management
Weekly elective and emergency theatre lists, with meaningful operative exposure both independently and under direct supervision
Procedural gynaecology outpatient services and antenatal clinics
Contributing to an active multidisciplinary teaching and education program for colleagues, midwives, junior medical staff and students
About You
Essential:
MBBS or equivalent medical degree, with current General or Provisional Registration (or eligibility for Provisional Registration) with AHPRA
Desirable:
Completed two years in the public hospital system (at least PGY3 by the start of training)
Sound knowledge of and commitment to quality management, ethical practice and cultural diversity
Competent in providing advanced life support measures
Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work effectively both in a team and independently
RemunerationRemuneration is in line with the Doctors in Training Enterprise Agreement *********, based on years of experience (HM25 to HM30).
The TeamYou'll report to the Clinical Director within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology unit, working alongside a dedicated, on-site clinical team with direct consultant supervision available at all times, including afterhours — genuine mentorship built into every shift.
