Due to continued growth and an exciting pipeline of opportunities, we are seeking an accomplished Senior Estimator to join our established Commercial Estimating team based at our Head Office in Helensvale on the Gold Coast.
The successful candidate will have strong commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of the South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales construction markets.
This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in securing projects valued up to $50 million and beyond, while working alongside a highly capable team renowned for its collaborative, solutions-focused approach to tendering and pre-construction delivery.
About The Role
Your key responsibilities will include:
Managing the pricing and preparation of tender submissions for commercial projects up to $50M+Developing competitive and commercially sound tender strategiesPreparing first-principles estimates, cost plans and Design & Construct submissionsReviewing and critically assessing subcontractor pricing, supplier quotations and Quantity Surveyor estimatesIdentifying risks, opportunities and alternative construction methodologies to maximise project outcomes and profitabilityProviding cost planning, benchmarking and comparative cost advice throughout the tender processMaintaining Alder's competitive edge through innovation, value engineering and cost optimisationCollaborating with clients, consultants,



subcontractors and supply chain partners to build and maintain strong relationshipsSupporting the procurement of future work opportunities alongside senior leaders across the businessManaging and enhancing benchmarking databases, supplier cost databases and market intelligenceMentoring and developing junior estimators and cadetsContributing to continuous improvement initiatives across estimating and pre-construction functions
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
10+ years' estimating experience within the commercial construction industryA proven track record pricing and securing projects valued up to $50M+Experience preparing Design & Construct tenders, ECI submissions and cost plansStrong knowledge of construction methodologies, buildability and value engineering principlesAdvanced skills in Buildsoft Cubit, Cubit Select, EstimateOne and Microsoft ExcelThorough understanding of Australian Standards and NCC requirementsEstablished relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and key industry stakeholdersExcellent commercial acumen, analytical skills and attention to detailStrong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence outcomesThe ability to mentor junior team members and contribute positively to a high-performing team culture
