The Team & Role
The Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON) supports the delivery of secure, person-centred care under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, the RUSON assists with delegated clinical and personal care activities within their approved scope of practice while developing their knowledge and skills as an undergraduate nursing student.
The RUSON contributes to the health,



wellbeing and quality of life of patients and residents by providing compassionate care, recognising and reporting changes in patients and residents condition, and adhering to professional standards, organisational policies and relevant legislative requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
Entitlement to work within Australia
· A Police Check that is current and within 12 months of the issue date
· Provision of valid Working with Children Check
· Seasonal influenza vaccination of healthcare workers in accordance with Secretary, Department of Health Directions
· Enrolled in the 2nd year (Nursing) or 3rd year (Nursing/Midwifery) of a Bachelor of Nursing or a Bachelor of Nursing/ Bachelor of Midwifery or other double degree with Bachelor of Nursing component, registered as a student nurse with AHPRA with no conditions or undertakings
· Be able to provide a transcript of evidence of successful completion of first year undergraduate Nursing qualification from a University in Australia
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Caring, pro-active, engaging manner with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
· Ability to work casual AM, PM and ND shifts across 7 days rotating roster (around clinical placements)
