The Role
We are seeking a trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team based at our Gnangara Workshop.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for carrying out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across a diverse fleet of plant and equipment, including road profilers, excavators, skid steers, trucks, trailers, and support vehicles.
Working both independently and as part of a small, experienced workshop team, you will play a critical role in ensuring our fleet remains protected, reliable, compliant, and ready to support project requirements.
The successful candidate will also be available to attend breakdowns, respond to callouts, and undertake regional field service work as required.
This position offers a Monday to Friday roster, with overtime and weekend work available.
Key responsibilities
· Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on a diverse fleet of earthmoving equipment, profiling and asphalt machines, trucks, trailers, and support vehicles.
• Repair trucks, trailers and associated equipment (hydraulics, auto electrics)
• Advanced hydraulic troubleshooting and repair
• Maintain accurate service and workshop records; keep workshop clean and safe
• Attend callouts, overtime, night shift and weekend work as required
• Support high presentation and safety standards
Essential criteria
• Unrestricted Australian working rights
• Trade qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic with 5–8+ years' relevant experience (minimum 5 years with earthmoving equipment)
• Strong experience with profilers, excavators and skid steers
• Proven diagnostic, preventative maintenance and hydraulic systems expertise
• Ability to service and repair trucks and trailers; auto electrics experience would be favourable
• Ability to work independently, self-motivated, reliable, able to attend callouts
• Required to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
Desirable
• HR licence and White Card
• Welding skills
• Forklift ticket and First Aid certification
