Apunipima Cape York Health Council is seeking a Quality & Compliance Officer to join our Quality and Compliance team in Cairns.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to expand their experience across quality systems, accreditation, auditing, risk management, and continuous improvement within a large and diverse organisation delivering services across Cape York.
Working alongside an experienced Quality and Compliance team, you will gain exposure to ISO ****, Human Services Quality Standards (HSQF), the National Safety and Quality Mental Health Standards for Community Managed Organisations (NSQMHCMO), RACGP accreditation requirements, risk management, internal auditing, governance systems and continuous quality improvement initiatives across a diverse organisation delivering primary health care, public health and social and emotional wellbeing services.
About Apunipima Cape York Health Council
Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service.
Servicing the communities of Cape York, with the main office is located in Cairns, Apunipima delivers public health care, and social and emotional well-being care, to community members.
Being a part of the team at Apunipima means helping us deliver essential services as well as building capacity in communities to manage their own health care needs.

As the Quality & Compliance Officer, you will support the ongoing development,



maintenance and improvement of Apunipima's Quality Management System and associated compliance, audit, and risk management activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting accreditation readiness and ongoing compliance activities
Coordinating and conducting internal audits
Monitoring corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
Supporting organisational risk management activities
Maintaining quality management and document control systems
Assisting with compliance reporting and governance requirements
Delivering training and support to staff in the use of quality systems
Contributing to quality, risk, and compliance projects across the organisation
About You:
You are an organised and collaborative professional with experience in quality, compliance, governance, auditing, accreditation, risk management or business improvement.
You may come from the health, community services, aged care, disability, government, education or other regulated sectors.
We would love to hear from candidates with experience in:
Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Accreditation and compliance frameworks
Internal or external auditing
Risk management and continuous improvement
Governance, assurance or compliance functions
Document control and records management
Electronic quality or compliance management systems
Staff training and capability development
Essential Requirements
Relevant qualification in business, health administration, practice management, quality, governance, compliance,



risk management or related discipline, or equivelant demonstrated experience
Current Queensland Drivers Licence
Blue Card (Working with Children Card), or willing to obtain
National Police Check, or willing to obtain
Ability to travel throughout Cape York communities
