About the role
Pope Packaging is an Australian manufacturer of paper, plastic and textile packaging products in an exciting phase of growth.
We've just installed our third Windmoller & Holscher papersack machine, one of the finest of its kind in the world, and we are seeking three skilled operators for our day shift team.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll set up, operate and adjust high-speed precision machines.
This role is for someone who gets genuinely hands-on: running changeovers, diagnosing issues, adjusting settings, and keeping quality and output on track without waiting to be told.
If your background is mostly watching gauges and escalating to a supervisor when something changes, this isn't the right fit.
If you enjoy figuring out why a machine is behaving differently and doing something about it, read on.
You don't need experience on papersack machines specifically because there aren't any others in Adelaide.
What matters is the right mechanical mindset and hands-on setting experience.
We've seen great results with people from Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)



production environments (like San Remo, Arnott's, Haigh's, Clipsal) and from trade and setting backgrounds: die setters, mould technicians, toolmakers, CNC machinists, diesel mechanics, fitters and panel beaters.
Candidates holding a Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or similar are encouraged to apply.
Day shift:
6:00 am – 2:06 pm, Monday to Friday
What we're looking for
Minimum 1–2 years' experience setting up and operating machinery in a production environment
Experience with machine setups, changeovers or tool changes
Strong mechanical aptitude, comfortable with hand tools and how machines work
Able to diagnose and resolve basic issues independently
Positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn
Dependable and consistent, Monday to Friday,
Full and unrestricted Australian working rights (sponsorship is not available)
Pre-Employment Requirements
