The Role
The Deputy Principal is a key member of the school's leadership team and will work collaboratively with the Principal, Deputy Principals, staff, students and community to lead school improvement and sustain a culture of excellence.
The successful applicant should provide strategic and instructional leadership that supports the school's vision, values and improvement agenda while fostering positive relationships and high expectations across the school community.
The successful applicant will ideally be a highly effective instructional leader with a displayed capacity to improve teaching quality and student outcomes through coaching, collaboration and evidence-informed practice.




They should possess the ability to lead professional learning, develop collective efficacy among staff and support the implementation of consistent whole-school approaches that promote excellence in every classroom.
Experience in leading professional learning communities, coaching programs, data-informed improvement processes and curriculum implementation will be highly regarded.
We are seeking a leader who values both innovation and implementation.
The successful applicant will ideally display the ability to translate strategic priorities into sustainable practice through strong organisational capability, attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
They should support the refinement of systems and processes that enable staff to focus on high-quality teaching and positive outcomes for students.
A commitment to fostering a positive and supportive staff culture is highly desirable.
The successful applicant will ideally build leadership capacity in others and create conditions where trust, collaboration, wellbeing and professional growth flourish.
They should support staff through change, maintain strong relationships and contribute to a culture where people feel valued, supported and empowered to achieve success.
The successful applicant should display a strong understanding of the role student voice, agency and wellbeing play in enhancing engagement and achievement.




They will ideally support initiatives that empower students as active participants in their learning, strengthen leadership opportunities and promote inclusive, positive learning environments where every child experiences a sense of belonging and success.
A displayed ability to engage meaningfully with parents and the wider community will be highly regarded.
The Deputy Principal contributes to strengthening partnerships with families through transparent communication, collaborative decision-making and a shared commitment to achieving the best outcomes for students.
Overall, the Deputy Principal should be an influential educational leader who combines strategic thinking with effective implementation, builds the capability of others and contributes positively to a culture of optimism, resilience, continuous improvement and sustained excellence.
They will play an important role in ensuring Coolbinia Primary School continues to be a thriving learning community where students, staff and families are known, valued and supported to flourish.
