About the CDPP
The CDPP is Australia's federal independent prosecution service established by Parliament to prosecute alleged offences against Commonwealth law.
We aim to provide an effective, ethical, high quality and independent criminal prosecution service for the nation in accordance with the Prosecution Policy of the Commonwealth.
The CDPP is a small, agile federal government agency that offers a dynamic working workplace focused on important legal outcomes, with ten offices located across Australia.

There are five litigation practice groups at the CDPP which conduct criminal prosecutions in nominated crime types across Australia, with one group focused on building legal capability and providing legal support functions for criminal prosecutions.
In addition, the CDPP has an enabling services group that supports the work of the litigation practices.
Each of these groups is led by an SES Band 2, with multiple SES Band 1 employees leading outcomes across the various branches within these groups.

About the Register of Interest | Senior Executive Service (SES)
This register enables the CDPP to access appropriately skilled and experienced senior executive professionals at short notice.
Roles are intended to be offered on a:
Non-ongoing
specified term only for an initial period of 12 months or less, which may be extended up to a total period of 18 months.
The SES register does not support ongoing engagement or promotion under the Public Service Act ****.

SES at the CDPP
The CDPP welcomes registrations from senior executives with a range of experience in leading large litigation practices and/or corporate functions.
Expertise for the CDPP SES roles are as follows:
Litigation/Legal
SES require expertise in criminal prosecutions and/or legal qualifications.
Enabling Services
SES must demonstrate relevant qualifications and expertise, specific to these corporate functions.
In addition to achieving the specific outcomes of the SES role, the CDPP SES employees are expected to demonstrate behaviours as set out in the Secretaries' Charter of Leadership Behaviours (DRIVE Behaviours) as part of their professional obligations and conduct.

Eligibility
All employees at the CDPP are required to obtain/maintain a satisfactory
police check
and a minimum
AGSVA
Negative Vetting 1
security clearance (higher levels for specific roles).
Australian Citizenship
is mandatory.
