Performance Goals

Responsibilities
· Ensures all residents' personal clothing and laundry items are labelled
· Safely transports and handles soiled linen in accordance with infection control requirements
· Launders linen and resident's personal clothing according to policies and procedures
· Safe storage and use of laundry agents including correct cleaning agents used in correct quantities for each task
· Ensures correct storage and rotation of clean linen
· Inspects and identifies linen items for replacement




· Participates in the Infection Control Program
· Documents Laundry Cleaning Schedule
· Documents lost clothing;
· Responsible for the ordering of chemicals and domestic equipment following consultation with the Facility Manager.
· Responsible for stocktakes, storage and ordering of linen via external linen service;
· Ensure duties are completed within the expected timeframe;
· Maintain appropriate professional boundaries;
· Maintain confidentiality of information according to the organisation's policy;
· Communicate effectively and appropriately with all residents.
· Provision of inclusive service delivery to all residents, including those from LGBTI communities.
· Act in a professional manner, providing prompt and courteous service to residents and their families/carers and team members at all times;
· Be flexible regarding work practices to ensure care meets individual needs;
· Provide responsive service in a manner that enhances resident dignity and self-esteem;
· Comply with Workplace Health and safety regulations;
· Comply with Infection Control Guidelines;
· Ensure actions or lack of action does not place own safety or that of others at risk;
· Use prescribed personal protective equipment and other equipment as instructed to minimise risk of injury, in accordance with procedures and training;
· Follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals used;
· Responsible for ensuring MSDS sheets are current and available for all chemicals.

· Take responsibility for meticulous personal hygiene and a safe work environment;
· Assist in the evaluation of hazards and immediately report any accidents or near misses.
· Aware of all fire management/ emergency systems;

· Attendance at all training as requested by the Care Manager/ Facility Manager
· Organisation and attendance at all meetings relevant to your role.
