Royal Life Saving is Australia's peak body for drowning prevention and aquatic education and has been serving communities for more than 130 years.
In South Australia, we lead and deliver programs that equip people with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to be safe in and around water.

Our impact extends across schools, aquatic facilities, community groups, government partnerships, and industry stakeholders, helping create safer aquatic environments for all South Australians.
The Opportunity
As a Board Member, you will provide strategic leadership, governance oversight, and support to ensure the continued success and sustainability of Royal Life Saving South Australia.
Working collaboratively with fellow Directors and the Chief Executive Officer, you will help guide the organisation as it delivers on its strategic priorities and community impact objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
Contributing to strategic planning and organisational direction
Providing governance oversight and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations
Monitoring organisational performance, risk, and financial sustainability
Supporting innovation and growth opportunities
Acting as an ambassador for Royal Life Saving South Australia
Participating in Board and Committee meetings
Who We're Looking For
We welcome applications from experienced leaders and professionals who are passionate about community impact and valuable governance.
We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in:
Legal, governance, or company secretariat functions




Human resources and organisational development
Marketing, communications, or public relations
Government relations and public policy
Digital transformation, technology, or cybersecurity
Risk management
Commercial strategy and business development
Previous board experience is valued but not essential.

Approximately 8–12 Board meetings per year
Participation on at least one Board Committee

Estimated commitment of 3 hours per month
