Perth College is seeking an inspiring and strategic Head of Sport to join our vibrant and high-performing independent girls' school.
As we approach our 125th year in ****, this is an exciting opportunity to shape a culture of participation, achievement and wellbeing within a leading independent girls' school.
Reporting to the Vice Principal, the Head of Sport is responsible for the strategic leadership, development and management of the Perth College sports programs.
This role provides vision and direction for high-quality, inclusive co-curricular programs that empower and inspire girls to participate, achieve and thrive.
The Head of Sport oversees program development, staffing, coaching and facility management, ensuring all sporting initiatives align with the school's values, educational philosophy and commitment to the holistic development of every student.
The Head of Sport will maintain a visible and active leadership presence across the school, including attending sporting activities and events before and after school, on weekends, and during selected school holiday periods, as required.
Consequently, flexibility is essential for this role.
This is a full time position commencing in January ****, an earlier start in Term 4, **** may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
About you
You are an experienced leader with a passion for girls' sport with significant leadership experience in school or community sport.
You have a demonstrated record of:
Strategic leadership and organisational capability
Leading and inspiring high performing teams
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
Fostering inclusive participation alongside high performance
You bring exceptional organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to manage complex programs, foster strong relationships and lead with confidence.
You have a sound understanding of risk management, sports science principles and emerging technologies in Health and Physical Education.
Experience teaching Physical Education Studies and a passion for developing young people through sport will be highly regarded.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Tertiary qualification in Sports Management, Physical Education, Exercise Science or a related field.
Tertiary level graduate qualification (essential) and post-graduate (desirable), teaching qualification (highly desirable).
Extensive experience in managing school or community sport programs within a girls' school or similar context
National Police Clearance within 6 months
Current Working with Children Check
Current First Aid and CPR Certification
An MR Bus and F class driver's licence (or willingness to obtain)
