About the Role As a Sheet Metal Worker, you'll play a key role in the fabrication, assembly and repair of precision sheet metal components used across a variety of manufacturing, engineering and industrial projects.
Working in modern, well-equipped workshops, you'll be part of a professional team delivering quality workmanship while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Fabricating and assembling sheet metal components to specification
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical plans and fabrication details
Cutting, folding, bending, rolling and shaping sheet metal
MIG and TIG welding where required
Operating fabrication equipment including press brakes, guillotines, rollers, punches and other workshop machinery
Measuring, marking and preparing materials for fabrication
Repairing, modifying and installing fabricated components




Conducting quality inspections to ensure finished products meet engineering specifications Maintaining workshop equipment and ensuring a clean, organised work setting
Working safely in accordance with all workplace health and safety procedures
About You To be successful in this role, you'll have:
Trade qualification as a Sheet Metal Worker, Metal Fabricator or equivalent recognised trade qualification
Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans
Experience operating fabrication machinery and workshop equipment
Strong fabrication, measuring and welding skills
High attention to detail with pride in producing quality workmanship
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
Highly Regarded While not essential, the following experience will be highly regarded:
MIG and TIG welding experience
Stainless steel and aluminium fabrication experience
Experience working in manufacturing, mining or heavy industrial environments
Forklift Licence
Overhead Crane experience
Current Australian Driver's Licence
Experience with precision fabrication and custom metalwork
