The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused
Environmental & OHS Officer
to join our team at a meat processing facility located in Batchelor, NT.
This hands-on role will support the ongoing implementation of workplace health, safety, environmental, and compliance programs across our operations.
Working closely with management and employees, you will help maintain a safe workplace, promote environmental responsibility, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company procedures, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
Support environmental monitoring and compliance activities.
Maintain safety, environmental, and compliance records.
Assist with the delivery of safety inductions and toolbox talks.




Monitor workplace practices to ensure adherence to safety procedures.
Support risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with regulator, customer, and certification audits.
Promote a positive safety culture throughout the site.
About You:
Must haves
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience in Workplace Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
Knowledge of WHS legislation and environmental compliance requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational and record-keeping abilities.
Confidence engaging with employees across all levels of the business.
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
Preferred
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or working towards).
Environmental management qualifications or experience.
Experience within food processing, manufacturing, agriculture, or meat processing industries.
First Aid certification.
