About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Production Supervisor
with a strong background in
electrical assembly manufacturing
to lead daily production operations in our electrical switchboard manufacturing facility.
This role is suited to someone who has previously supervised
assembly manufacturing teams
, understands production planning and workflow management, and can drive productivity while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and workmanship.
Experience within electrical switchboard or similar electrical assembly manufacturing is highly regarded.
You will be responsible for coordinating production activities, leading assembly personnel, monitoring performance against production schedules, and ensuring products are manufactured in accordance with engineering drawings, SOPs, and quality requirements.
This is a
permanent, long-term Production Supervisor position

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Leadership
Supervise the daily operations of assembly, sub-assembly, and electrical wiring teams within a manufacturing environment.
Work closely with the Production Manager to achieve daily production schedules and targets while maintaining product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Coordinate workflow between Production, Procurement, Stores, Engineering, and Quality departments.
Monitor labour utilisation, productivity, and manufacturing performance.
Identify and implement opportunities to standardise all aspects of the project, including cables, mechanical and electrical components, and cable routing.
Maintain accurate production records, work orders, and manufacturing documentation.
Manufacturing & Quality
Ensure all products are assembled in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Monitor workmanship standards throughout the production process.
Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Reduce rework and improve first-pass quality through effective supervision and process control.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and motivate production employees to achieve operational goals.
Conduct daily production meetings and communicate priorities clearly.
Monitor employee performance and provide regular feedback.
Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
Assist with workforce planning and resource allocation.
Training & Apprentice Development
Train recent employees and apprentices in assembly techniques, electrical wiring practices, manufacturing procedures, and workplace standards in accordance with Magellan procedures and Australian Standards.
Mentor team members to improve technical capability and workmanship.
Monitor apprentice progress, competency development, attendance, and performance.
Promote ongoing skills development and continuous learning across the production team.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
Promote safe work practices and ensure the correct use of tools, equipment, and PPE.
Conduct routine safety inspections and address workplace hazards promptly.
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient production environment.
Ensure manufacturing activities comply with company quality systems and regulatory requirements.

Skills & ExperienceEssential
Previous experience as a
Production Supervisor,
Manufacturing Supervisor, Electrical Assembly Supervisor, or Team Leader
in an assembly manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing or production teams.
Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and workflow management.
Experience managing KPIs related to productivity, quality, and delivery.
Ability to read and interpret engineering or manufacturing drawings.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
Experience using ERP or manufacturing production systems is advantageous.
Proactive with strong initiative.
Excellent communication skills.
Highly Desirable
Experience in
electrical switchboard manufacturing
, electrical assembly, control panel manufacturing, or similar industrial manufacturing.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Experience supervising apprentices or developing production employees.
