We are seeking an experienced
Project Controls Officer
to join our Canberra-based team.
The Opportunity
This is a key role within our Integrated Work Program Team.
Working in a trusted Defence environment, the Project Controls Officer will provide the planning, controls, analysis and delivery insight needed to support successful capability outcomes.
The successful candidate will own and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), support the ongoing development of the Integrated Work Program and provide objective, evidence-based information to inform governance, forecasting, delivery assurance, risk visibility and decision-making.
Working alongside the Integrated Work Program Coordinator, stakeholder engagement and risk specialists, document control personnel and program leadership, this role will provide continuity, integration and delivery visibility across the life of the program.
This position is not intended for a generalist project manager.
It is suited to a project control professional whose core discipline is complex project and program scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
Own and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
Support management and continuous improvement of the Integrated Work Program.
Develop and maintain schedule baselines, milestones, dependencies and planning assumptions.
Translate authorised work activities into integrated plans, schedules and delivery forecasts.
Monitor and analyse delivery performance against approved plans and milestones.
Conduct schedule forecasting, trend analysis, scenario modelling and impact assessments.
Prepare delivery reports, performance metrics and decision-support information.
Maintain visibility of delivery risks, constraints, dependencies and emerging issues.
Support governance,



assurance and reporting through accurate and reliable project controls information.
Coordinate planning and project controls information across stakeholders and workstreams.
Maintain traceability, configuration control and integrity across project controls artefacts.
Provide trusted advice to program leadership to support planning, prioritisation and delivery decisions.
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate:
Proven experience in
complex project and program scheduling within Government, Defence and/or industry environments
.
Experience supporting
Government, Defence and/or industry
acquisition, sustainment, engineering or capability delivery programs.
Advanced Microsoft Project skills.
Demonstrated experience in integrated planning, schedule management and project controls.
Experience developing and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules.
Experience managing schedule baselines, milestones, dependencies and critical path analysis.
Experience in undertaking schedule forecasting, performance assessment and impact analysis.
Experience producing reports and decision-support information for senior stakeholders.
Robust understanding of project controls, delivery governance and assurance practices.
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and analytical skills.
Current NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance.
Australian Citizenship.
Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain an
NV2 AGSVA Security Clearance
.
Highly Regarded
Experience supporting Royal Australian Navy programs.
Experience within CASG, SPO, Major Service Providers or Defence industry delivery environments.
Experience supporting classified capability delivery activities.
Experience with earned value management, performance measurement or project control frameworks.




Current NV2 AGSVA Security Clearance.

This is a Canberra-based position requiring regular attendance at Defence and approved secure facilities.

Security Clearance
Current NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance Required
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain an
NV2 AGSVA Security Clearance
as part of the ongoing program requirements.
Applicants must therefore:
Hold a current NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance.
Be eligible for an NV2 clearance upgrade.
Be willing to undertake sponsorship and upgrade to NV2.
Maintain the clearance level required for ongoing program delivery.
