About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate
Registered Nurse (RN)
or
Aboriginal Health Practitioner (AHP)
to join our team as
Rural Remote Team Leader.
Based in Tennant Creek, you will lead a small multidisciplinary team delivering outreach healthcare services to remote communities and outstations across the Barkly Region.
You will coordinate day-to-day operations, provide clinical leadership, support staff development, and work closely with community members to deliver high-quality primary healthcare services.
This role combines leadership, community engagement, public health, health promotion, chronic disease management and direct clinical service delivery to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal families living in remote areas.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate rural and remote outreach health services.
Provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to team members.
Deliver health assessments, screening, treatment and follow-up care.
Coordinate immunisation programs and preventive health initiatives.
Support management of chronic disease and population health programs.
Promote health education and public health awareness across communities.
Facilitate referrals, specialist appointments and telehealth services.
Build strong partnerships with community members and external stakeholders.
Contribute to quality improvement, reporting and service development activities.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
Current registration as a
Registered Nurse (AHPRA)
or
Aboriginal Health Practitioner
.
Experience in primary health care and/or rural and remote health settings.
Demonstrated leadership, supervision and team coordination skills.
Strong communication, consultation and relationship-building abilities.
Understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes.
Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Current driver's licence.
Eligibility to obtain an NT Ochre Card and National Police Check.
Commitment to culturally safe and community-centred healthcare delivery.
Desirable
Experience working in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs).
Knowledge of Communicare.
Remote NT experience.
Immunisation certification.
Four-wheel drive training or willingness to undertake training.

$137,****** - $147,****** per annum
Aboriginal Health Practitioner:
$120,****** - $128,****** per annum
