Greenmountain Food Processing Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified Maintenance Fitter to join our maintenance team at our large beef-processing facility in Coominya.
This is a stable, long-term opportunity for a trade-qualified fitter who enjoys varied industrial maintenance work across complex production equipment.
You will support plant reliability through planned maintenance, breakdown response, fault-finding, repairs, shutdown work and continuous improvement activities.
About the role
Reporting primarily to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
Perform planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across production and processing equipment
Maintain conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics and other mechanical systems
Complete welding, fabrication and mechanical repairs within your competence
Assist with equipment installation, upgrades and shutdown activities
Conduct machinery inspections, testing and fault-finding
Respond to urgent breakdowns and competing operational priorities
Follow permit-to-work, isolation and lockout/tagout requirements
Maintain food safety, hygiene and contamination-control standards
Support continuous improvement and plant reliability initiatives
Communicate effectively with supervisors, production teams and contractors
Participate in overtime, weekend work and after-hours breakdown support where required
About you
You will have:




Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
Demonstrated mechanical competence and solid fault-finding ability
Current Driver's Licence
Full Australian working rights
Strong commitment to workplace safety
Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
Practical welding and fabrication capability
Reliable, flexible and professional approach
Capacity to perform physically demanding maintenance work, including lifting, climbing and working in confined or awkward areas
Experience in food processing, meat processing, manufacturing or another high-volume industrial environment will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Confined-space, working-at-heights and other site-specific competencies are desirable but may be obtained through training.
What we offer
$85,000–$95,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience + Super + Overtime
