CITIC Pacific Mining are seeking an experienced Senior Hydrogeologist to join our Technical Services team at Sino Iron, Cape Preston.
This is a permanent full-time position offered on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.
Reporting to the Superintendent Geotech and Hydrogeology, this is a hands-on technical role where you will take ownership of groundwater modelling and dewatering strategies that directly support safe and efficient mining operations.
You'll be working across a fully integrated operation, where hydrogeology plays a critical role in mine planning, geotechnical performance, and long-term water management.
Key Responsibilities
Optimise groundwater and pore pressure models to support mine planning and slope stability
Design and drive pit dewatering and depressurisation strategies
Provide critical inputs into geotechnical, mining, and closure planning decisions
Support approvals and licensing processes with accurate groundwater modelling and reporting
Manage groundwater and surface water monitoring programs and compliance requirements
Lead field investigations including dewatering, water supply, and water quality assessments
Mentor and guide junior hydrogeologists and field teams
About You
Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Geological Engineering or related discipline
Strong experience in groundwater modelling within an open pit mining setting
Experience with modelling and data tools such as FEFLOW, MINEDW, HEC-RAS or similar
Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into practical mining outcomes
Experience supporting approvals, licensing, and environmental compliance
Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical teams
Current manual driver's licence
