Six-month leadership assignment | Port Macquarie, NSW | Accommodation and relocation support available
Looking for your next interim leadership assignment-and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact?
The Salvation Army Aged Care is seeking an experienced residential aged care leader to spend six months in beautiful Port Macquarie, providing leadership continuity and guiding a 66-bed residential aged care home through its next phase of operational improvement.
This is an ideal opportunity for an accomplished Centre or Facility Manager who enjoys defined-term assignments, is comfortable stepping into an established home and can quickly bring stability, focus and confident leadership.
To support candidates considering a temporary move to Port Macquarie, furnished onsite accommodation is available, along with relocation, travel and vehicle support.
Arrangements can be discussed based on the successful candidate's individual circumstances.
Your six-month assignment
The home has stable occupancy and is supported by an onsite Clinical Manager, alongside experienced regional, clinical, quality, people and talent acquisition teams.
Following a recent Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission audit, the home has a clear improvement agenda.
You will provide the visible, steady leadership needed to maintain day-to-day operations while strengthening performance across quality, compliance, workforce stability,
occupancy and financial outcomes.
An active recruitment program is also underway to further strengthen the home's workforce stability.
Your priorities will include:
Providing confident, visible and supportive leadership across the home
Maintaining safe, high-quality and person-centred care
Assisting in the home's response to identified audit improvement areas
Maintaining robust compliance and performance against key operational measures
Supporting workforce stability and building team capability
Maintaining occupancy and sound financial performance
Building engagement, accountability and confidence across the team
Developing trusted relationships with residents, families and key stakeholders
About you
You are an experienced residential aged care leader who can quickly assess an environment, establish priorities and bring people with you.
You will bring:
Demonstrated experience leading a residential aged care home as a Centre Manager, Facility Manager, Residential Service Manager or equivalent
Strong knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and contemporary regulatory requirements
Experience maintaining or improving quality, compliance and operational performance
The ability to lead confidently through change and respond constructively to audit findings
Sound commercial capability across occupancy, staffing and financial performance
A calm, visible and practical leadership style
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with residents, families and employees
The flexibility to live and work in Port Macquarie for the full six-month assignment
Experience successfully leading a home through a period of improvement or regulatory follow-up will be highly regarded.
