Position Summary
THIS IS A CASUAL/PART-TIME POSITION ONLY, APPROX.
20 HOURS A WEEK.

We are currently seeking a
reliable and motivated Retail & Meat Assistant
to join our team.
This dual role combines
retail customer service
with
meat packing and preparation
duties.
The successful candidate will deliver exceptional customer experiences, ensure products are prepared and displayed to the highest standard, and maintain a
clean, safe, and efficient
work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide product advice and support to customers, including pet food selections.
(Pet nutrition knowledge is valued but not required — on-the-job training will be provided.)
Operate the POS system and process sales accurately.
Weigh, cut, wrap, and package meat and raw pet food products to company standards.




Label and price products clearly and accurately.
Stock shelves, fridges, and displays, ensuring freshness and proper rotation of goods.
Maintain cleanliness across the shop, preparation areas, and equipment.
Receive and organise stock deliveries, including frozen and refrigerated goods.
Follow all workplace health, safety, and food hygiene procedures.
Work collaboratively with team members to achieve sales targets and maintain store presentation.
Ability to lift up to 20kg as required.
Skills & Attributes
Must have driver's license.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Robust attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working in refrigerated areas and handling raw meat.
Team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
Basic numeracy and computer/POS operation skills.
Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience in retail, meat packing, or food handling (preferred but not essential).
Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Willingness to learn and follow company procedures.
Flexibility to work Saturday mornings.
