Accounting Administration Assistant
to join our Finance team.
This
full-time
role is ideal for someone looking to build their accounting career within a dynamic automotive business while gaining exposure to a broad range of accounting and administrative functions.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accounting records are accurate, compliant, and maintained to a high standard.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting graduate or someone currently studying towards an accounting qualification to gain valuable hands-on experience.
What you will be doing
General Accounting
Assist with bank reconciliations and daily cash management
Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments
Reconcile general ledger accounts
Assist with fixed asset register maintenance
Ensure accounting records are accurate and up to date
Compliance and Administration
Maintain financial documentation and filing systems
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and accounting standards
Support process improvement initiatives within the finance function
Provide general administrative support to the Finance team and wider business as required
Perform data entry and maintain accurate records across accounting and business systems
Assist management with ad hoc administrative projects and other duties as assigned

Skills & Experience
Essential
Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; or currently studying towards a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel




Solid numerical and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skilled integrity and commitment to confidentiality
Australian working rights
Desirable
Progress towards CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants (CA ANZ) qualification
Previous experience in an accounting, finance or administration role
Experience working within the automotive industry (highly regarded but not essential)
Experience using ERA software (preferred but not essential)
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
