About us
Powered by OCTA, Clean Energy Fuels is a leading player in the power generation and distribution sector, committed to delivering reliable, sustainable energy solutions to communities across Australia.
We operate with a focus on operational excellence, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
Our team comprises skilled professionals dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in energy production and distribution, ensuring that our customers receive consistent, quality power supply.
We pride ourselves on our collaborative culture, investment in employee development, and commitment to safety and sustainability.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Operations and Maintenance Planner to convert operational, maintenance, inspection and reliability requirements into safe, executable work plans and integrated schedules.
You will own the planning workflow from work-request validation through detailed job planning, resource and material readiness, scheduling and CMMS close-out quality, with MEX used as the primary maintenance management system.
This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who can bring structure to competing priorities, improve work readiness and help establish scalable maintenance planning standards as CEFA incorporates new sites, assets and operational areas.
Key responsibilities
Develop and maintain a rolling daily, monthly, quarterly, 6 monthly comprehensive maintenance schedules
Coordinate planned maintenance activities, including shutdown planning and execution, in collaboration with operational staff and contractors
Plan preventive, corrective and statutory maintenance, operational tasks, inspections, shutdowns and reliability actions.
Review work requests and prepare detailed, executable job plans and work packs covering labour, duration, tools, materials, permits, isolations, hazards, quality checks and return-to-service requirements.

Maintain and prioritise the backlog based on safety, statutory obligations, equipment criticality, reliability and production impact.
Apply a ready-to-schedule standard so work is only committed when scope, resources, materials and key constraints are sufficiently resolved.
Coordinate maintenance windows, plant start-ups and shutdowns, equipment changeovers, SIMOPS, contractors and specialist vendors.
Coordinate material identification, purchase requirements, reservations, delivery and staging with Procurement and Stores.
Maintain accurate work-order, job-plan, preventive maintenance, asset and equipment-history data in MEX.
Track PM compliance, overdue work, schedule performance, carryover, backlog ageing, material constraints and close-out quality.
Support root cause analysis, reliability reviews, incident investigations and continuous improvement activities.
Incorporate new sites, assets and operational areas into CEFA's planning and maintenance framework, including asset data, PM routines, job plans, critical spares, statutory obligations and initial schedules.
What we're looking for
Proven experience in maintenance planning or scheduling within power generation, distribution, or similar industrial environments, ideally 5+ years
Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems (MMS) and CMMS software applications
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage maintenance budgets and track costs effectively
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimise maintenance strategies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Project
Explicit written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholder groups
Understanding of power generation and/or distribution operations, plant equipment, and asset management principles
